Fat Joe (Terror Squad) meldet sich zurück mit seinem mittlerweile neunten Solo-Album, Jose 2 (Jealous Ones Still Envy) – Fortsetzung zu seinem bereits 2001 erschienenem Album „J.O.S.E.″.
Das einfallslose Gangsta Gehabe mit Synthie-Beats und Auto-Tune, wie bereits auf seinen vorab Singles “One” (feat.Akon) und “Aloha” (feat. Plasure P und Rico Love), zieht sich durch das gesamte Album. Highlights auf dem 48-minütigen Longplayer sind hier definitiv die reichhaltige und hochkarätige Auswahl an Feature-Gästen. Mit dabei sind Akon, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Lil Kim, Fabolous, Raekwon, T-Pain, Ghostface Killah, Young Jeezy, OZ, T.A., Rico Love und Ben Soir.
Insgesamt ist das Album durchweg Clubtauglich und zum Low-Rider bouncen produziert, allerdings ohne großen Anspruch. Nicht ganz so Kommerziell erklingen die Songs „Ice Cream“, “Okay Okay“ und „Music“, die durch Fat Joe’s gewohnten originellen Style überzeugen. Fat Joe (Joseph Antonio Cartagena) ließ verlauten, das seine Ehe die Inspirationsquelle für den Song “One” war.
Das Album verkaufte in der ersten Woche grade mal 8800 Exemplare und kann damit auf keinen Fall an den Erfolg seines 2002 veröffentlichten Albums „Jealous Ones Still Envy“ anknüpfen.
